Dear friends of the Mystical Rose MRMS Membership Society ----- Prayer Sacrifice Penance Happy, Hearty, & Holy Mystical Rose Year since it is of 2013 and Month of the Church: one, holy, Catholic, and apostolic.
In this Year of the Faith, we urge everyone to read the Apostolic Letter of His Holiness, Porta Fidei (the Door of Faith), at least once. This Letter is VERY BRIEF -- it is NOT the length of a typical encyclical.
I loved teaching 3 groups of students at St. Pius X Church here in Corpus Christi, including some 7 different grades, during Vocations Week here just a few weeks ago. As His Holiness emphasized the need for the intensification too of liturgical celebrations this Year (and ever), as well as the wider Eucharistic emphasis in Pope Paul VI's famous Creed of the People, it was great to share on that at the school named after the famous "Eucharistic Pope" -- the last to have been canonized.
GREAT DISCOVERY: the very last Bible verse quoted by His Holiness in the Letter for the Year of the Faith is the one that I use in honor of Jesus' 33 years, in 33 chants and with Hosanna(!) cheers. It speaks of "all praise, and glory and honor to our Lord Jesus Christ" in 1 Ptr 1:7 -- and it is in my prayer with Ecclesiastical Approbation by Bishop Rene Gracida in honor of Jesus' 33 years (it came to me in The Year for Priests). The St. Pius X children and teachers rejoiced with all the Hosannas and chants in it, and in honor too of the various ages of Jesus that corresponded with the ages of the grade-schoolers present.
We pray in this "Month of the Church" -- as we can call it since the two greatest liturgical Feasts in it are that of the Presentation in the Temple and the Chair of Peter, the 2nd and the 22nd (whereas Lourdes is only a Memorial) -- that all of our God-given gifts and talents can be shared with both His Church (especially) and with the world, howsoever beneficially, in accordance with His orthodox and creative Divine Will. Orthodoxy is open to the Holy Spirit Who "renews the face of the earth (including the Church)" since orthodoxy was itself a renewal and uplifting of what had been Jewish unto what became initially Christian, by Jesus Christ Incarnate, then developed over time by The Holy Spirit with new (now traditional) hymns, inspirations, movements, charisms, and more: even the Solemnity of His greatest attribute to man, inaugurated as recently as the Great Jubilee Year of 2000: Divine Mercy Sunday. Let us keep our Pentecostal fire ever ablaze, and even with new leaps aflame or new tongues of fire or new zealous enkindling of hearts as the Holy Spirit can fan them aflight.
God wants us to especially love those of the Catholic household of faith, then also those of the wider Christian household, and our Mystical Rose even invites us to pray not only for but with those who are not of our Catholic/Christian faith. Here's about the very best choir performance of how other Christian children too can be of goodwill for Jesus: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6AYxwchmx44
"Glory to God in the highest, and peace on earth to people of goodwill." Certainly those angels of Bethlehem could chant that over these precious 'kiddoes'. About the greatest teaching in the Catechism of the Catholic Church is that salvation is for anyone of goodwill, whether a Hindu or whatever... provided they didn't have sufficient "light" in becoming Catholics and rejected that light who is The Light -- Jesus Himself. St. Thomas Aquinas taught GREATLY that God will judge us only according to the 'lights' we have, and not the 'lights' we don't have (especially if we not only didn't have them on, but also people who didn't know they existed -- certain Muslims, Hindus, Lutherans, etc., even sectists). Too, the Church teaches that even if the 'lights' came, but by scandalous light-bearers, then the judgment for not having those 'turned out' will not be equal to those who had Blessed Mother Theresas, etc., knocking on their doors directly, etc. It's like the Samaritan woman at the well had she never been at the well or heard well of Jesus otherwise, either, by the mouths of other 'Samaritans' not all that 'Good.'
Fr. Ed, of official Church doctrine regarding Catholics and non-Catholics, besides non-practicing Catholics who may be of mitigating factors as to why they aren't practicing -- DEPENDING. In general, though, anyone willing God's will over their own will definitely come to learn much of God and of His one, true, Catholic, and apostolic Church on earth, besides His Church Triumphant in Heaven and Church Suffering in purgatory... if for some strange reason not yet in this life, then in the next FOR SURE! So, may our Prayer, Sacrifice, and Penance be all the more pleasing this Year to Our Most Holy Trinity via Maria, Rosa Mystica, of 3 major roses.
Have a Blessed & Holy February month of the Holy Church of Jesus Christ! TOO: a GREAT 13 (New Millennial) MYSTICAL ROSE YEAR of 2013! Fr. Ed, SOLT, Corpus Christi, Texas, USA.
May Our Lady ever-flowering & overflowing with graces & blessings unfold in us The 3-Fold indwelling Divinity (of Her 3 'Roses') to ever spring, sing, & ring alive. Amatissima semper esto Maria Rosa Mystica! ===== Most Beloved ever be Maria Rosa Mystica!
