Here’s a prayer I came up with that goes with her 24 Glory Bes in honor of her 24 years. You can do it with the Glory Be 24 times [or less] and followed each time by my own expansion of invoking her after each Glory Be since her parents will be canonized in October. It has brought me many favors already: Glory Be [in honor of her 24 years] -- “St. Thérèse of the Child Jesus, daughter of Saints Zѐlie and Louis Martin, Patroness of Missions and Doctor of Divine Love, please pray and stay with us (much this May, too). Thank you O Heavenly Little Flower of Lisieux.” She and her parents certainly go great with Mary, Mystical Rose.
Also, in May, we want to pray the rosary daily and as often as possible. Why? The rosary can have more power and grace in May since it’s Mary’s month, depending upon how well it’s prayed. [May will be capitalized to highlight the dates.] Of great Marian saints in this month, first and foremost St. Joseph the Worker, MAY 1. [If you’d like to highlight Marian ones of this month daily, in holy hours or other, feel free to copy & paste, and print out these MAY listings.]
On MAY 2 is Our Lady of Orvieto, Spain. St. James the Lesser (Apostle), MAY 3, was surely loved by Our Lady as the Episcopal Apostle of Jerusalem. MAY 4 is ‘Our Lady the Helper’ in France [too, St. Richard Reynolds a Bridgettine, an Order mystically devout to Our Lord and Our Lady (he was martyred)]. MAY 5 has the founder of the Cong. of the Brothers of the Presentation, Bl. Edmund Rice; Our Lady of Europe, too. Of course, St. John the Evangelist at the Latin Gate, MAY 6, where they tried to boil him alive, yet couldn’t; same day of Bl. Anna Rosa Gattorno who co-founded the Institute of the Daughters of St. Anne, Mother of Mary Immaculate, with many fruits of religious life.
MAY 7 has St. Rose Venerini who formed a solidarity of rosary prayer-folk; too, St. Agostino Roscelli who founded the Institute of Sisters of the Immaculata. On MAY 8 is Our Lady of Divine Providence. Also it’s of Our Lady of Lujan: She’s the Patroness of Argentina (where Pope Francis had lived as Cardinal), Paraguay, & Uruguay… the same date is of the Pope who converted the Pantheon to Our Lady and martyrs, St. Boniface IV; yet it’s also now the memorial of the New Jersey nun beatified per Pope Francis: Blessed Miriam Teresa Demjanovich, a well-known rosary devotee, teacher, and spiritual writer who died May 8, 1927.… it’s also when we went to Europe to try to launch the MRMS, Brother Sobichen and I, with Msgr. Marco Alba, etc. in Fontanelle in May. MAY 9 has Bl. Nicholas Albergati, a Cardinal, who was the Archpriest in 1440 of St. Mary Major’s Basilica in Rome; MAY 10 has a recently proclaimed Doctor of the Church, who spiritually advised great Carmelite Doctors and more – St. John of Avila. MAY 11 is Our Lady of Aparecida, Patroness of Brazil – where Sisters of the Mystical Rose already are established. Of course, too, MAY 12 has St. Candida Maria de Jesus, a foundress who helped Christian upbringing of children in Spain.
MAY 13 is the 1st Apparition of Our Lady of Fatima. MAY 14 has the great preacher for purity and for over 30 years in various countries: the Apostle St. Matthias. Yet too it has St. Maria Mozzarello who co-founded the Daughters of Mary Auxiliatrix. MAY 15 has Our Lady of France, where the rosary was first gifted. MAY 16 is Our Lady, Queen of the Apostles. MAY 17 has St. Giulia Salzano, a famous Marian devotee; yet also Antonia Messina (who I preached on in Italian last May in Fontanelle), the ‘martyr of purity,’ known as the ‘Maria Goretti’ of that area, dying at 16. MAY 18 is of St. John the 1st, Pope. MAY 19 is of Pope St. Celestine V, reformer of clergy (tying to this Year of Consecrated Life). MAY 20 has St. Hilary of Toulouse, a bishop in the area that Mary gave the rosary to St. Dominic. MAY 21 is Our Lady of Vladimir, Russia, where Our Lady of Tenderness has double feast days, per St. JPII (the only other one with a double being Our Lady of Good Counsel – April 25-26, typed in right on April 25, the Feast Proper, with the 26th as the Day of Petitions. MAY 22 has Bl. Maria Rita Lopez of Brazil, a nun of the missionary Sisters of the I.C.; and also the date of Our Lady of Mount Virgin in Italy.
MAY 23 is amazingly of Our Lady of Miracles of Brescia (Diocese of Mystical Rose apparitions)! Too, it’s of a great Marian St. John Baptist Rossi. MAY 24 is Mary, Help of Christians. MAY 25 is Our Lady of the New Jerusalem and also of the Carmelite mystic St. Mary Magdalen of Pazzi. MAY 26 has the founder St. Phillip Neri who’s remains are mainly in a Marian Church in Rome, too. MAY 27 is of Our Lady of Naples. MAY 28 has Bl. Margaret Pole who favored purity and opposed Henry VIII’s adultery; it’s also the Feast of Our Lady’s relics in Venice. MAY 29 has St. Ursula the Pole who founded the Gray Ursulines Order who had the spirit of evangelizing, as Our Lady of Guadalupe, Star of the New Evangelization, wants of us all. MAY 30 is Our Lady of the Sacred Heart and St. Joan of Arc who wanted mainly to die in the state of grace when roasted alive at the stake. MAY 31 is Mary, Mediatrix of All Graces(!) per Pope Benedict XV for Belgian Dioceses, while other popes endorsed this Title for Mary, too.
Honoring Mary thus goes with the Holy Spirit Who inspired Mother Church to encourage and spread daily rosaries in May. Have a great Year of Consecrated Life. For our causes all the more, feel free to invoke for us the very patron saint of the Brescia Diocese wherein are Montichiari and Fontanelle [the martyr SAINT PANCRAS (May 12)] – and especially Our Lady of Miracles of Brescia (every May 23)! Thank you all.
Glory to the TRINITY, and via Maria ROSA MYSTICA!
Fr. Ed, Mexico, SOLT, but MRMS too in spirit!
Have a Blessed & Holy May month of Mary!
May Our Lady ever-flowering & overflowing with graces & blessings unfold in us The 3-Fold indwelling Divinity (of Her 3 'Roses') to ever spring, sing, & ring alive.
