Indeed, due to a vision of the Child Jesus, St. Therese met with Leo the 13th - the ‘Pope of the Rosary’ - asking as a girl to become a Carmelite (and just before her 14th birthday): thus at 13! Even her original name echoes a bit the name of our current Pope Francis: Francoise-Marie Therese Martin. Amazing how popes and rosaries come together in a neat way with the “Little Flower” who starts off our Rosary Month. Passing from what I call the “Month of the Divinity of Christ” to that of the Month of the Most Holy Rosary, we can note that in the Mystical Rose messages to Pierina she heard Mary say “My DIVINE Son Jesus Christ” about 70 times over. She also refers to “divine grace” as well, besides a bit to “Divine Justice.”
Now, as the rosary begins with the Creed, we can gain in “divine grace” and faith by recognizing the Holy Spirit at work in the Apostles’ Creed. Would He not have inspired Mother Church’s earliest Creed? Would He not have inspired Mary’s faith, too? Of course, He is the sanctifier of souls (I like to write sancti-FIRE too – holy fire) per the sanctifying grace He moves into the soul. No surprise that the Archangel Gabriel (who starts off the Hail Mary) calls her the “Full of Grace.” This would be the ‘sanctifying grace,’ rather than simply ‘actual grace:’ the Church refers to the former as the most necessary for salvation (St. Thomas Aquinas), while the latter can assist in it. For example, as PRAYER is the first emphasis of Mary’s 3 Roses: the gifts of praying a rosary well can surely be of ‘actual grace’ – by definition, the grace in doing an activity, labor, or endeavor of any kind. ‘Sanctifying graces’ are helped, for example, by the ‘actual graces’ of not being distracting, of not praying by self-will overly (outside of our Father’s will) or for selfish goals (tho willing one’s salvation is good self-love, if not forgetting one’s neighbor tho), or of praying far less than “constantly” as Jesus taught.
Amen, amen, by what I call ‘Divine Designs’ the holy roses of rosaries can be part of the BEST plan to move everything forward. Yet also that of holy Roses, saints with the name of Rose who can have a special providential help, too, for all of our Mystical Rose hopes. Mary Mystical Rose preferred St. Mary Crocifissa di Rosa (explicitly too for her last name, as she told Pierina). Yet, too, on Sept 20th I found that one of those 800 martyrs of Korea (canonized by John Paul II) was a saint with that same last name [Rosa]. Who? St. Kim Rosa was a widow who would not be weaken before the threatening judge (to break her bones, etc.). Though she went through torture, she is happy in heaven with the greatest crown -- that of martyrdom. "St. Kim Rosa, please pray for our Panama hopes and all, and thank you for your bold openness to the power of the Holy Spirit in your talk and walk without balk of your faith."
Then came another even greater Mystical Rose Divine Design with saints. How finely DIVINE since refined by martyrdom! [Site affirming that all 3 were of the laity, http://catholic-saints.livejournal.com/14071.html while some of the martyrs were priests, and religious, especially Franciscans, Diocesans, etc.] Here’s from a site with the full (120) count list: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martyr_Saints_of_China:
Yet another Divine Design for the month of the Rosary, too… the Canadian Blessed Marie Rose Durocher’s Memorial is on her very birth and death date: 6 October! She helped found the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary who serve as teachers. She took the name of Marie Rose. While she was beatified on May 23, 1982 by Pope John Paul II, BEHOLD the very date of when the same Pontiff proclaimed her a Venerable: JULY 13 (1979) – the Mystical Rose’s requested feast date!
As for yet another #13 [Divine Design] right on Oct. 1, too: his prayers can greatly help…
As a Bishop in Armenia, he also became a great evangelist there, and a miracle worker. In fact, upon one travel back from his homeland he was seized by the son of a King there, tortured for 13 years, then converted him, leading to most of Armenia’s conversion, too!
Have a Blessed October month of the Most Holy Rosary!
